Mrs. Olson
Welcome to 7th grade American History! I'm really excited to start my first year teaching at Century Junior High. Officially this is my 6th year of teaching. I have previously taught at Litchfield High School teaching 9th grade World Geography and 10th grade American History. After the position had been cut, I went to northern Minnesota where I taught at Mesabi East High School where I taught: 8th grade American History, 9th grade World History, 10th grade American History, and 11th/12th grade Psychology. At this time I met my husband and we decided to move to Iowa so that he could earn his double master degrees in education and ecology. I then taught at North Polk Middle School teaching 6th grade World History and 7th grade Geography. However, once my husband graduated, we knew that we wanted to come back to our roots and come back to Minnesota.
I am so excited to be back in Minnesota and teaching American History. I have taught a variety of different social studies classes and I have always found American History fascinating. This class allows for students to see where we have been and where we are going. My goal is to help students understand their past so that they can help lead our country to a better future.
